Covid 19 Amendment
During the Pandemic, B&Bs can only provide accommodation to guests who are deemed to be key workers as specified by the government and need to be away from home for their work, to provide accommodation to the people who would otherwise be homeless (in conjunction with the local authority), and workers who are unable to return to their main residence and are unable to return home safely.
Within these criteria, Wainwright House are prepared to consider bookings in order to assist key workers, including doctors, nurses and other key workers who are helping our nation in its battle with Covid. However, we cannot guarantee to be able to accept people in all circumstances. Due to the risks we are unable to provide breakfast and have to insist that any guest engages fully with all requirements about social distancing, hand washing and the wearing of masks. Also in the event of a suspected infection, the need for self isolation will mean that bookings may have to be cancelled at a moment’s notice without any possibility of assistance in finding alternative accommodation or compensation. This would of course be regretted and any unused portion of a payment would be refunded, but the current situation makes any other solution impossible.
This Amendment overrides all subsequent sections of these Terms and Conditions where applicable.
Deposit & Payment
The full cost of your first night’s stay at time of booking if paying by cash or cheque.
Where we hold credit card details to guarantee booking, no deposit will be required.
The balance of the full amount due is payable on arrival, please.
Please note that, at the moment, we can only accept cash or cheques.
Cancellations
In the case of non arrival, the full cost of the booking will be payable
If you cancel within one week of your booked arrival date, we shall charge for the full stay booked. If we are able to re-let the room, then we will of course reduce your charge accordingly.
Please note that your booking deposit is non-refundable. However, if you cancel more than one week before your booked arrival date, then we shall carry forward your deposit to any future booking.
Please remember that a room reservation is a legally binding contract and we advise you to take out the appropriate holiday insurance.
Arrivals and Departure
We would prefer our guests to arrive between 3pm and 6.30pm
There will be no occupancy before 2 pm but you can leave your bags and vehicle if you do arrive early. It is very important that you phone ahead to warn of any late arrival.
We politely request that guests check out of their rooms by 10.30am on the morning of departure. Bags and vehicles may be left on departure day by arrangement
House Rules
For the comfort of all guests, Wainwright House is strictly non-smoking. Please be aware that any breach of this will result in liability for any cleaning costs incurred.
We are sorry that we are unable to accommodate pets
Please do not eat ‘take aways’ in the bedrooms. We are happy to provide a table/crockery/cutlery in the breakfast room for your convenience on request.
